Why You Need to Hear the Voice of God- Part 1

Human beings are special in the eyes of God. They are not like animals. A human being was created in the image and likeness of God. So that means he is like Him. He is linked to God for his survival and proper functioning on earth.
"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.[(Genesis 1:26-27) (KJV)]
.

This means mankind needs God in order to live according to the purpose for which he was created. Therefore, man must hear and communicate with God. He was not created to be independent. He was created to have fellowship with Him.

In order to have communication with God, this must be in God's terms. God speaks. However, due to the interference of Satan, man fell into sin. He then inherited the nature of the devil. He died spiritually. God had to work on a plan to restore man back to Himself. The fellowship got spoiled. As time went by, man lost hearing from God.

God's plan finally worked out after Jesus Christ had come to the earth. Jesus took man's place. He died for him. Then it became possible for man's sin to be removed. Therefore, anyone who comes and accepts Jesus Christ as Lord, he is forgiven of his sin. Fellowship with God is restored.

Jesus then left the earth and went back to heaven where God is seated. However, He promised another Comforter, the Holy Spirit to come and take His place on earth. John 16:13-15, "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but what things soever he shall hear, these shall he speak: and he shall declare unto you the things that are to come.
He shall glorify me: for he shall take of mine, and shall declare it unto you.
All things whatsoever the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he taketh of mine, and shall declare it unto you."(American Standard Version).

The Holy Spirit came into the earth and filled believers. Receiving Him is called baptism in the Holy Spirit. He came to fulfill all that Jesus promised. He leads and guides the believers. He has a voice through which He guides believers. This gift from heaven is available to anyone who believes that Jesus Christ is Lord.
