Why are people including some believers afraid of Satan, his demons
and even death? There is no need. This article will help you understand
why you should not be afraid of such. It will explain three reasons that
are critical to your freedom and victory in life. No one can walk in
victory unless and until he knows that the enemy was defeated. Before we
look into these three reasons, let us first read the following
scripture:
Forasmuch then as the children are
partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the
same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of
death, that is, the devil;
And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. (Hebrews 2:14-15).
Now, let us look at the reasons.
1) The devil was destroyed
The
reason why Jesus came to the earth was to live the godly life and then
die thus taking our place. By so doing, he destroyed the devil. We are
the ones who were supposed to die because of our sin. Jesus was not
supposed to experience the painful death.
The definition of "to
destroy" is not to stop existing. Satan and his demons are still around.
According to the Greek word “destroy” means to make powerless; to bring
to naught; to reduce to zero; to make inactive; to make of no effect;
and to paralyze. Through His death Jesus paid the penalty of our sins.
So this paralyzed the devil. There is therefore no need to fear the
devil or the judgment after death. He may make all the noise that
intimidate people and use his tricks to deceive believers, but he has no
authority. Furthermore, he cannot force you into anything.
2) Death lost its sting
Since
Jesus died, He showed us that we no longer need to fear the effects of
physical death. Physical death cannot destroy your soul and spirit.
Physically, we shall all experience physical death if Jesus delays
coming.
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:55, 57).
The
Lord Jesus gives us victory. When we die physically, we know that we
shall rise again as Jesus did. Then we shall be with the Lord for
eternity. That is our hope as believers.
3) The Lord Jesus reigns
The
death of Jesus and His resurrection did something great for us. It
released us from the fear of the devil and of death. This stripped the
devil of his earthly authority. He lost his right to rule over all
creation. He had stolen the authority to rule from Adam who yielded it
to him. He did that through deception. That is what he does even today.
He tries to deceive you. He succeeds with other people. But thank God
that Jesus took His rightful position to rule over all. He is the King
of kings. We are the kings.
There is indeed no reason to fear the
devil and death. He was destroyed by the Lord Jesus Christ. The devil
had his power and authority to rule the earth stripped off from him. You
need to walk in victory. Take your rightful position. If you are not
yet born again, give your life to Jesus today.

How to Use Your Authority as a Believer- Given Unconditional Authority
I believe we now understand that indeed we are in a
spiritual battle. We are faced with it every day. It is important therefore to
answer these questions like, “Who is our enemy? What power does our enemy have?
There are different views on where Satan came from and
how he got the power he has. Isaiah
14:12 says, “How art thou fallen
from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how
art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!”
Ezekiel
28:14 says, “Son of
man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus saith
the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.”
These scriptures tell us that God created a beautiful
angel Lucifer who had wonderful features, rich stones, decorations, etc. We are
told that he was perfect in all his ways according to Ezekiel 28:15, “Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou
wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.” However, he then became
proud and rebelled against God.
A doctrine has been formed around Revelation 12:4, where it is recorded, “And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and cast them
to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to be
delivered, to devour her child as soon as it was born.” The doctrine is
about the devil convincing one-third of God’s angels to join him and confront
God in a fight. It also asserts that in the fight God defeated him and cast him
down to the earth. However, the rest of the entire Bible does not make mention
of such.
Some theories say that Satan ruled the earth before Adam
was put in the Garden of Eden. This means he fell before Adam came to being.
Cataclysm believes that something happened between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2.
This theory believes there was judgment that took place thus resulting on the
earth becoming waste i.e. without form and void. What this theory means is that
there was a recreation. This therefore implies that God created Adam and Eve, and
then placed them where there was this beast called Satan and his demons with
their evil and corruption so that man would have a choice between good and
evil. This portrays God in a different light if He would put His innocent
people where there was this wild beast just to tempt them. Would you leave your
small child where you knew there was a dangerous wild beast just to tempt him?
This would be abuse. God is too loving and caring to do such a thing.
How
did the devil fall?
The belief I follow is that God sent Lucifer who was God’s
top angel to come down to the earth to minister to Adam and Eve in the Garden
of Eden. By this time he was not Satan. Hebrews
1:14 says, “Are they not all
ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall inherit
salvation?” We learn from this portion of scripture that all angels are
sent to minister to us. The divine mission or assignment for Lucifer on earth
was to serve not tempt Adam. He however, transgressed when he was there. We get
information on what happened in Isaiah
14 and Ezekiel 28. We are told
how Lucifer became Satan. God, through the prophet addressed a physical person;
that is the King of Babylon in Isaiah 14:4
and King of Tyre in Ezekiel 28:12.
What was addressed in these scriptures was a demonic power that was behind the
physical person.
Force
behind a physical person
In Matthew 16:23
we hear Jesus speaking these words, “But
he turned, and said to Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan; thou art an offense to
me: for thou savorest not the things that are of God, but those that are of
men.” What was happening here? Jesus was speaking to Peter but addressing a
demonic power that was operating through Peter. So the same thing was happening
in Ezekiel 28:11-12:
Eze 28:13 Thou
hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy
covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the
jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship
of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast
created.
Eze 28:14
Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so:
thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the
midst of the stones of fire.
Eze 28:15
Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till
iniquity was found in thee.
The scripture gives us a description of Lucifer who was
placed in the Garden of Eden and how he was created. Lucifer’s transgression
against God came about in the Garden of Eden. This is described in Genesis 3
when he entered into a snake. He used the serpent to speak and tempt Eve. The
serpent was successful in convincing Adam and Eve to eat of the fruit of the
tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This is the time Lucifer rebelled
against God.
Revelation
12:3-4 is not a strong basis for saying Satan took one-third of
God’s angels and led a rebellion against God. How could Satan win against his Creator
who had two-thirds of angels on His side? How could he even win if he had all
the angels of God on his side? We are talking about the Creator of the whole
universe here. How could he directly confront Him?
Absolute
Authority to rule
God had given absolute authority i.e. unconditional
authority to Adam and Eve to rule and dominate the earth and all that was in
it. It is supposed that angels including Lucifer had been given delegated
authority i.e. conditional authority. This is the kind of authority that could
be taken away the moment one violates the conditions that accompany the given
authority.
We learn that Adam and Eve were given unconditional
authority. That means there were no restrictions and qualifications to the
power and authority given by God over the earth. This is found in Genesis 1:26-28:
Gen 1:26 And
God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have
dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the
cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping animal that creepeth
upon the earth.
Gen 1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him;
male and female created he them.
Gen
1:28 And God blessed them, and God said
to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and
have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over
every living animal that moveth upon the earth.
God spoke and gave authority, power, and dominion when He
created man. Looking carefully to these scripture, you realize that there was
no condition or qualification on what God gave to mankind.
The
Integrity of God
God is always faithful to His Word. What He speaks gets
established as a law. He does not turn His back on His Word. Look at what Psalms 89:34, Hebrews 6:18 and Numbers
23:19 say:
Psa 89:34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that hath gone out of
my lips.
Heb 6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a
strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set
before us.
Num 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man,
that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he
spoke, and shall he not make it good?
All the above scriptures reveal God as a true and very
reliable Creator. He can be fully trusted on what He says in His Word. That is
what keeps the universe in place. He holds everything by His Word and
integrity. Look at what Hebrews 1:3
says.
Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his
glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the
word of his power, when he had by himself made purification of our sins, sat
down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.
God never violates what He says. After having given Adam
and Eve absolute authority, He could not take it back after they had handed it
to Satan. God gave away absolute dominion of the earth.
God
bound Himself by His Word
It was not God’s purpose for man to hand over power and
authority to Satan. Man willingly yielded dominion over to the devil. The
integrity of God did not allow Him to stop or reverse what had happened. He
could not take back the authority. God is not like men who often reverse what
they had said or given to others once there is a violation of expectation. So
God bound Himself by His Word. The reason is that God magnified His Word above
all His names.
“I
will worship towards thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy
loving-kindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all
thy name.” (Psalms 138:2)
The name of Jesus is the only name given under heaven by
which we must be saved. The Bible tells us that every knee shall bow before the
name of Jesus and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord
according to Philippians 2:9-11. The
name of the Lord is a strong tower according to Proverbs 18:10.
Php 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which
is above every name:
Php 2:10
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven,
and things on earth, and things under the earth;
Php 2:11
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
Pro 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it,
and is safe.
Having all the above, we note that God has magnified His
Word even above the name of Jesus.
Lucifer knew the integrity of God. So when he heard that
God was giving absolute authority to Adam and Eve, he wanted to exploit the
opportunity. With the supposition that he had conditional authority to
function, he knew such could be taken away from him instantly once the
conditions his authority were violated. This shows us that he could not directly
confront God with delegated authority. Once taken, he would just have
absolutely no power at all.
It is acknowledged that some things are not clearly
stated in scripture. So they may be beyond human knowledge according to Deuteronomy 29:29, which says, “The secret things
belong to the LORD our God: but those things
which are revealed belong to
us, and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.”
With the understanding of God, His nature, His character,
and His Word, this is the direction to which Biblical evidence points. There is
no evidence that proves angels have unconditional power and authority like that
which was given to Adam and Eve. However, we learn that angels have freewill
according to 2 Peter 2:4, which
says, “For if God spared not the angels
that sinned, but cast them down to hell,
and delivered them into chains of darkness,
to be reserved to judgment.” (2 Peter 2:4).
It may be concluded therefore with all that has been indicated here that Satan could not directly charge against God with one- third of the angels. Lucifer just took advantage of getting absolute authority to dominate and rule the earth, which originally belonged to mankind.

How to Use Spiritual Authority as a Believer- No Evil Thing
There are unpleasant things that always come our way. As
you think about them, you just feel angry and discouraged. The negative
thoughts seem to get hold of you and feel like speaking out as you feel,
thinking it is a way of relieving yourself. Is that the best way to relieve
yourself? Always remember, we are in a spiritual battle. Understand that every
thought, emotion, and action count. You need to exercise your faith and
self-control.
The Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 6:31 revealed that to the point at which we take a thought,
we embrace it as our own. The scripture reads as follows:
“Therefore
take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or,
Wherewithal shall we be clothed?” I want you to note the
phrase, ‘Take no thought…’ Once you take thought on something, you own up to
that thought. It becomes your own whether it is good or evil. It means you have
started the creation process of that thought. As to where that thought
originated no longer matters. Negative thoughts will always come to your mind.
They may originate from what you see, feel and hear others saying. There is no
way of avoiding thoughts from coming. But you can choose on whether or not to
allow them take root in your mind.
Your
tongue can destroy you
The devil brings thoughts, feelings, and attitudes to our
minds and hearts with regards to certain issues. These are like seeds thrown to
the ground to grow and bring forth crops of their kind. But as a child of God,
you can prevent these evil seeds from taking root in your life by taking no thought
of them. That means you avoid entertaining evil thoughts.
Once you are able to resist speaking a negative thought,
you have rejected ownership of that evil thought. Once rejected, the thought
loses the strength to release the negative power it has. Remember that the
power of a seed to grow is within it. When allowed, it will naturally grow. So
a negative thought has the evil power in it for its fulfillment. It just needs
a conducive environment. Refuse to speak negative thoughts that violate what
you believe.
“Death
and life are in the power of the tongue:
and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” (Proverbs
18:21). We note from this scripture that there are two forces that can be
released through your tongue. It is either death or life. We speak life to ourselves;
however, we tend to counter those words of life with negative words. That
neutralizes results. Your words then lose the necessary energy to bring forth
expected results. That is why most of the time things do not change and conform
to what we want in life. We learn therefore, that we can hinder our own success
in life if we are not careful enough.
Your
words are important
Normally, everyone protects what he values as important.
You need to protect your words. Do not allow your words to be contaminated.
Your words are creative. Therefore, learn to always speak what you want to see
happening in your life.
There is this interesting portion of
scripture found in Mark 11:23-24:
Mar 11:23 For
verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou
removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but
shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall
have whatsoever he saith.
Mar 11: 24 Therefore
I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye
receive them, and ye shall have them.”
We further see that God is more than
willing to grant what we ask from Him according to Matthew 7:7-8:
“Mat 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it
shall be opened unto you:
Mat 7:8
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him
that knocketh it shall be opened.
The Bible has encouraged us to pray and ask for the
things we desire. These things may be about family, relationships, finances, careers,
health, etc. However, after praying you can speak negatively about the things
you have prayed for. You may find yourself criticizing, beating down those very
things you desire to see in your life. By so doing, you release death on them.
That is why at times we do not receive the results we expect. We then wonder
why we do not receive from God.
You can say what the facts of a matter are, like
acknowledging a problem but you should then counter them with what you believe
God for. Avoid starting with what you are believing God for and then countering
with the negative facts. Always remember that you are either releasing death or
life. Guard your mouth and release life.
“Set
a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.” (Psalms 141:3).
Be in control of the harvest of your life. Proverbs 18:20 says, “A man's belly shall be satisfied with the
fruit of his mouth; and with the
increase of his lips shall he be filled.”
Every word you speak is like a seed. Any seed produces
after its kind. You have to choose what kind of harvest you want to reap in
your life. We choose every day. Do not gripe, complain, and speak negatively
because you may not be pleased with the fruits. Problems will come your way but
avoid bitterness. Do not allow negative thoughts to dominate your life. Train
yourself to always think positively, speak words that are consistent with God’s
word, and act in a godly manner. Your words and actions are important.
Let
your eyes be always open to truth
Satan takes advantage of the negative words we speak ignorantly.
Look at what Matthew 12:37 says, “because by your words you will be
acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned." (International Standard Version). Your words will release you
from any bondage. At the same time you may be condemned into bondage or
suffering of any kind because of your words.
Failure to appreciate the importance of our words will
lead to speaking doubt, unbelief, foolishness, and things that empower Satan to
devour us. When our guards are down, the enemy will destruct us. In Acts 26:18, we read, “To open their eyes, and to turn them
from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they
may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are
sanctified by faith that is in me.” Satan has blinded people. He dominates
the lives of many without them being aware of it. That is a painful experience.
It becomes easier for unsuspecting believers to think that things happen just
because of circumstances, fate or luck. Such things are a result of influences
from the devil.
Let us look at the following scripture in Ephesians 2:1-3:
Eph 2:1 And
you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Eph 2:2
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according
to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the
children of disobedience:
Eph 2:3
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our
flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature
the children of wrath, even as others.
Before we became the children of God, the devil was
influencing our lives. We were the children of Satan by nature. Therefore, he
was dominating our lives because we were blinded to the truth. Now our eyes
should be open to the truth.
2
Corinthians 4:4 says, “In
whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not,
lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God,
should shine unto them.” The enemy is still blinding and hardening the
hearts of people today. He does not want them to see the truths of the Gospel
of Christ. The Church needs to fully understand that the spiritual battle is
serious. The devil is aggressive in his approach. As believers, we also need to
be aggressive and preach truth to people.
The
devil corrupts
Satan is using all possible means to spread his deception
to the world. He uses most of the digital media like TV, radio, and Internet to
spread his evil influence thus extending his control. Both believers and non
believers are exposed to various degrees of ungodliness in areas of sexual
immorality, violence, strife, hatred and sarcasm. All of these evil are poured
into our homes as Satan uses them. The same platforms are used by God for the spreading
of the kingdom of heaven. If believers are not careful, the devil will destroy a
lot of people’s lives. Watching the evil stuff in the media will affect you
more than you realize. In 1 Corinthians
15:33, we read, “Be not deceived:
evil communications corrupt good manners.” Never think that watching evil
stuff on the media will leave you the same. What is communicated will surely
corrupt you one way or the other. Your mind, emotions, and actions will be
affected. You need to commit yourself as a believer not to entertain anything
that is inconsistent with the Word of God. By so doing you will avoid being
corrupted.
Watching evil stuff affects you consciously and
unconsciously inside. Wrong pictures will be formed inside you. Those will be
pictures of lust, anger, immorality, strife, murder, and hatred. Do not open
yourself up to the negative spiritual power, which seeks to gain an inroad to
your life. Ephesians 4:27 says, “Neither give place to the devil.”
Allow
only good pictures into your life
The devil likes to paint evil pictures in the minds and
hearts of people. That is the reason we see most of the violence in society.
These evil pictures are sown in people from their very youthful stage as they
watch violent movies and other negative stuff. No one can be tempted by what he
does not think but what he thinks about constantly.
Hebrews
11:15 says, “And truly,
if they had been mindful of that country
from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.”
We become and do what we constantly think and talk about.
Everything you say matters. Why? It either releases God’s
power or that of the devil in your life. The devil is busy working and looking
for someone to devour according to 1
Peter 5:8, which says, “Be sober, be
vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about,
seeking whom he may devour.”
Once the devil has succeeded blinding your mind, he will
steal, kill, and destroy you thus fulfilling his mission.
2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which
believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image
of God, should shine unto them.
Joh 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I
am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more
abundantly.
If you ignore this spiritual battle, you will be
destroyed. This battle is real so you need to actively fight and adjust
yourself accordingly in the way you think and live. Take responsibility for
your life and those who depend on you. Submit yourself to God and resist the
devil. James 4:7 says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist
the devil, and he will flee from you.” Do not give place to the devil
through your thoughts, emotions, and actions (Ephesians 4:27).
Recognize the spiritual dynamics happening around. Your actions determine the results you experience in life. If you ignore them, Satan will destroy you. Avoid any sin in your life and going against the Word of God. Why? That will open a door to the devil. So follow God’s instructions and you will reap the desired results in your life.

How to use your authority as a Believer- You have power to choose your Master
You can choose who to serve. You can either serve God or
Satan. Someone may ask, “Is there anyone who can choose to serve Satan?” Yes, you can. Choosing is not necessarily
about speaking with your mouth and say, “I choose Satan.” It is more of
actions. It is often said that actions speak louder than words and that is
true.
When you yield yourself to sin, you are serving Satan.
However, if you yield yourself to obedience, you serve God because He is the
author of righteousness.
Romans
6:16
says, “Know ye not, that to whom ye
yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether
of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?”
This scripture shows that your actions are very important
in the spiritual battle we are facing. You may recognize that your actions are
important in the physical realm because of their consequences. But you must
realize also that even in the spiritual realm they are important. Speaking
negatively about people may hurt those people thus releasing demonic forces
against them. Over and above the physical and natural dimensions, there are
spiritual dynamics in place. Even if what you say or do does not affect
anybody, it will affect you. How? Negative actions like venting anger,
resentment, frustration or unforgiveness open a door to the devil to enter into
your life. If you do these things, you yield or present yourself to Satan. It
is the devil that influences you to act in this manner because he wants you to
open the door to him. In other words he is always knocking at the door of your
life.
Human
anger is not of God
According to James
1:20, the Bible says, “For the wrath
of man worketh not the righteousness of God.” The wrath or anger of man do
not produce or manifest the righteousness of God. If you allow anger and
bitterness to occupy your life, such do not in any way accomplish the desires
and goodness of God. The flesh cannot accomplish or fulfill the purposes of
God. So you should not give place to losing temper and anger. That is not how
the kingdom of God works. It does not matter whether anyone hears you or not
when venting anger; it affects your own life.
The devil is always looking for an opportunity to attack
your life. He jumps quickly to enter any open door in your life. The purpose
for doing that is clear. It is to steal, kill and destroy.
“The
thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that
they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
(John 10:10).
The enemy is working hard to accomplish his mission. Look
at what he likes and enjoy. It is written in James 3:16, “For where
envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.”
Spiritual
dynamics
Be careful of what you say with your mouth. Doing so will
ensure you are protected from the tricks and deception of the devil. In Psalms 141:3 it is recorded “Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth;
keep the door of my lips.”
Learn to be in control of your thought life. That is
where all things start. What you think leads to the words you speak. The words
you speak lead to actions. Captivate every thought to the obedience of Christ.
We have weapons to use according to 2
Corinthians 10:5, “Casting down
imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge
of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”
Be in control of your actions. Demonstrating the fruit of
the spirit ensures that the works of the flesh do not manifest. Let us read Galatians 5:22-24:
Gal 5:22 But
the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness,
goodness, faith,
Gal
5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such
there is no law.
Gal
5:24 And they that are Christ's have
crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
With the above, no devil can have access in your life. No
law can work against you. No law of flesh, the world, death can work against
you. Only the law of life in Christ Jesus becomes operational in your life. The
devil will be deprived of any chance to implement his mission found in John 10:10. You therefore need to be
always conscious of the spiritual dynamics in action in your life.
God wants your life to be yielded to Him. If that
happens, His power and blessings are released in your life. On the other hand,
Satan wants you to be yielded to him so he can release his death and
destruction. All ungodliness including bitterness and unforgiveness are an
inroad of the devil into your life. So avoid the snares of the enemy. Please
understand that there is no in between in life. It is either you are submitting
to God and His influences or to the devil and his influences. Always remember
that when you act you are releasing spiritual power in your life. It depends on
who is in charge i.e. God or Satan. Therefore, allow me to state that the
results you are reaping in your life today are as a result of the one to whom
you have yielded yourself.
How
are things conceived in our lives?
Let us look at a principle of conceiving things that
finally manifest in our lives. It shows us how things are manifested in life.
In other words, the principle shows us how things are created in our lives,
good or bad. Please note that even though it appears on the negative, it also
applies to the positive. We take it from the epistle of James 1:14-15:
Jas 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and
enticed.
Jas
1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is
finished, bringeth forth death.
We see here that one is first drawn away from something
into something else. One always occupies a certain position in life. When a
word of life or deception is presented, you are drawn away. Then you get
tempted if it is evil. After being drawn, we see that there is a conception
stage, which leads to sin, then death. This scripture makes it clear that sin
is conceived in your emotions. Any emotion you conceive, good or evil you birth
it. It is important therefore to resist any thought that you do not want to be
reality in your life. These thoughts may be those of anger, depression,
suicide, marriage problems. Since we are in a spiritual battle, the devil takes
advantage of those negative thoughts and emotions. Once thoughts have been
emotionalized, they are created into tangible reality. Ensure therefore as a
child of God that you quickly fight negative thoughts and abort them. Replace
them with good ones i.e. positive thoughts and emotionalize them in order to
see their reality. That quickens the creation process.
The devil is looking for people to devour according to 1 Peter 5:8, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring
lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”
Satan is a thief, killer, and destroyer. He has no
authority to devour just anybody. Otherwise, we would all be destroyed by now
if he was able to do so. You have to give him authority first for him to carry
out his mission in your life. You must first yield to him.
We also learn that God has a will for our lives. But
again, we also need to yield to him. Yielding to Him means we are giving Him
authority. Jesus in John 10:10,
says, “…I am come that they might have
life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” The Lord Jesus
Christ wants to release His life in you by the power of the Holy Spirit. This
is the kind of life the devil is trying you steal, kill, and destroy in you. It
is worth stating that both forces are able to manifest your thoughts and emotions.
The good news is that you are the determining factor. It depends on you as to
which force you allow. So what make the difference in your life are your
thoughts, choices, and actions.
Your
words are powerful
It is important to understand that your words are
creative and powerful. They can have a strong and lasting impact in your life
and those around you. How is that so? Your thoughts result in the words you
speak. The words you speak express what you have come to accept and believe.
What you believe will result in actions. You therefore need the Word of God to
believe the right thing. Fill your heart with them so they can govern your
thought life. The words you speak to people under your authority impact them.
Ensure therefore that you build your children with good words. Create a
beautiful life for your children. Avoid destroying them with words spoken in
anger. Spoken words either shape or destroy lives.
Proverbs
18:20-21 has the following to say:
Pro 18:20 A
man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the
increase of his lips shall he be filled.
Pro
18:21 Death and life are in the
power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
If you speak negative words, the devil will use them
against your life and your loved ones. The scripture above means that one’s
life is filled or satisfied according to the abundance of words spoken through
the mouth. Before words can be spoken there must have been conceived thoughts.
Once one has conceived something, it will surely come to pass. Negative words,
strife, and depression can cause serious problems in a family. These things can
affect family members especially children. Learn to create a good environment
for your family. Let your children have a safe and good environment for them to
grow up. This will boost their confidence and creativity, which is a good base
for life.
Ignorance
is dangerous
Ignorance of how spiritual forces work has led to the
destruction of many families, relationships, and lives. Awareness of these
spiritual forces will help you to be careful of thoughts, words, and actions. James 3:16 has the following to say:
“For
where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.”
Most people have accepted strife and fighting as normal
where there are people. These are behaviors viewed as unavoidable. But as much
as there may be disagreements on some issues of life, they can be better
handled than allowing strife to rule. The problem is that there are spiritual
forces that come to play in such an environment. As a result things can
completely come out of hand. The Bible above states that there will be
confusion where there is envying and strife. The worst part is that it does not
end with confusion, but EVERY evil work. There are demonic activities. It means
the devil can manipulate the situation and do any evil he wants against you.
These are things that activate the operation of the devil against your life.
In 1 Corinthians
14:33 the Bible says, “For God is
not the author of confusion, but of
peace, as in all churches of the saints.” We learn here that God is not the
author of confusion. We serve a God of peace. Peace must rule in our lives all
the time. If there is peace, the enemy is denied access. Now, if God is not the
author of confusion then who is? The obvious answer is that it is the devil.
The devil likes confusion. He feeds and breeds in confusion and strife. That is
why every evil work is found there. In such circumstances, the devil is in
control. I am sure that you don’t want such as a child of God. The good thing
is that you are the determining factor. Avoid it. Fight it in Jesus name.
Confusion and strife open the door wide to the devil and
his demons to manifest. They give Satan the opportunity to destroy you and
everything you care about. In such circumstances you will start seeing
different forms of tragedy, poverty, sickness, and death manifesting. The devil
is like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. The best thing you can do
is to resist the devil and ensure that no door is open to him. He is your
enemy.
Blessings in Jesus Name!
